Indianapolis Indians

Last night was family night at the Indians game. We thought the kids would get a kick out of seeing a game and getting to go downtown at night. Plus, with buy one get one free tickets, how can you go wrong, right? We'll, it was better than we expected. We got four FREE tickets from a local bank, Jason was home early from work and the weather was near perfect for baseball watching (overcast and 80). We had a fun family experience for a grand total of $15! WOW, only God can orchestrate all those factors. Thank you Jesus for a fun frugal family memory. Here's "Hollywood" herself on the way to the game.Kaden's favorite part was seeing the home run and seeing a bat break.

Marin's favorite part was "eating my ice cream!" Hard to believe, eh?
Staying out until WAY past bed time was a bonus summer treat.

Easter 2011

Easter at our house was not without the typical fanfare of egg hunts, baskets, fancy clothes and bunnies. It was a nice weekend, very nice actually, I just haven't taken the time to blog about it. So, before these pictures are old and outdated, here they are for your enjoyment.

my little cutie's grow'n up!

Oh my! Everyone around here keeps telling me she's growing up and when I look I too can see it. She's no longer a toddler, but a little girl! She talking in complete sentences and asking inquisitive questions ("What are you two talking about?" "Can I have candy?") and she's potty trained. I had to take the photo last week because she looked so cute and the outfit she was wearing was a combination of hand-me-downs from 3 people (thanks Amber, Sara, and Karin!)!

Don't worry, we're squeezing those chubby legs and cheeks as often and as long as we can!

He is Alive!

Oh the Wonderful Cross, oh the Wonderful Cross bids me come and die and find that I may truly live. Oh the Wonderful Cross, oh the Wonderful Cross all who gather here by grace draw near and bless your name.

When I survey the wondrous cross on which the Prince of glory died my richest gain I count but lost and pour contempt on all my pride...

Oh the Wonderful Cross, oh the Wonderful Cross bids me come and die and find that I may truly live. Oh the Wonderful Cross, oh the Wonderful Cross all who gather here by grace draw near and bless your name.

Easter Understanding from a 5 year old

  • Today at breakfast Kaden prayed, "Thank you Jesus that part of your plan was Easter." Oh my! I loved it.

  • We've been doing Resurrection Eggs after dinner each night (if you haven't heard of them... You've gotta check them out! VERY COOL!). Last night we did the 7th egg which had 3 nails in it. So, we talked about how they hung Jesus on the cross. Then I asked him why Friday is called Good Friday when it's the day Jesus died. He did not hesitate long before he said, "Because Jesus took away our sins!" Praise God that boy has Truth in his precious heart! I am so stunned at his level of comprehension, memory and understanding.

  • Meanwhile Marin has found a new stall tactic for bedtime. She tells Jason she wants to put him to bed. She makes him go to his room, take off his shoes, get in bed, and get under the covers. Then she proceeds to sing him a song (usually Twinkle Twinkle) and pray for him. It's really cute!
