We had a VERY fun day celebrating
Kaden. He's old enough that he helped "plan" certain aspects of the day and was really looking forward to "everyone" coming. He's been to two parties for his classmates in the past month, so I was worried he'd want friends to come this year (which just isn't possible with out of town family all coming). He asked once, but didn't bring it up again. And, after the big day, when asked what his favorite part of the day was, his reply was "Having all the grandmas and grandpas come."
Playing outside with Grandma
SteckelMarin and Daddy (this may have been one of the twenty minutes Marin wasn't crying on party day! Poor girl is just getting over an ear ache that lasted about a month.)
Birthday boy!
Enjoying his new balance bike (notice, no
pedals)
Oh my, a real guitar! It is a lot easier on the ears than the 50 cent garage sale one he's been playing for a year!
The cake. Only my second Wilton cake and I was pleased with how it turned out (tasted yummy too...I like to use almond extract instead of vanilla). It did take me forever to decorate though...we're talking at least 3 hours! Whew! I wasn't quite ready to let everyone eat it . I was thinking more along the lines of museum display for a week or so, then cut into it!
