Marin's 2 Month Stats

This week Marin officially turned 2 months. She went to the Dr. for her well check up and here's her newest statistics....

Weight: 13 pounds 1 ounce

Height: 24 1/4 inches

In case you are one who likes comparisons, Kaden at this same age weighed 14 pounds 13 ounces and was 24 inches long...she's ahead of him on the height and behind him on the weight....I think that's every girls' dream.

Here's a picture of her on her 2 month birthday...I'm going to try to take a picture of her in this chair every month on the 28th. We'll see how well I do at remembering that one. Oh, and she's already wearing size 6 month clothes...YIKES!

***Snow***Day***2009***

As you're probably well aware, we got a major snow storm this week. Tuesday we had NOTHING, and Wednesday morning we had about 12 inches of snow (my ruler said 9.5, but the newspaper said our suburb had 12+). It was unbelievable. Jason couldn't get out of the drive, so we all had a snow day together. While Jason shoveled and snow blowed the driveway, Kaden and Owen played outside. Here are a few pictures of Kaden's snow day play date. We're hoping to take him out in it more this weekend.
These last ones are my favorite. The snow was so deep they were crawling through it. It was so funny to watch. I heard Kaden say, "Owen help me up" and Owen's reply was "You can get up yourself" I don't think Owen could have helped him if he wanted too...it was just too deep. They LOVED it, and I had to make them come in after about 45 minutes because their cheeks were red and I didn't want them to get too cold.

Kaden's "BLING"

This is Kaden's newest way to use his John Deere tractors. Such an accessorizer!

Random Pictures of Marin

Here she is....growing so fast and slowly developing her own personality. She get many comments on her full head of hair, and her chubby cheeks are irresistible. How did we ever live without her?

Brotherly Love

Kaden is a great big brother, he really is. He is attentive enough, but not smothering of Marin. He likes to hang out in her room, but when the crying starts, he hi tails it out of there. He occasionally asks to hold her, but more often asks, "I give her a kiss?" and proceeds to plant one on her sweet cheeks (never settling for her head, that would be too easy). She doesn't know it yet, but I think one day she'll have her very own, personal body guard.

A Smile for the Camera

Marin has been smiling all the time (well, many times a day). She looks so delicious when she smiles. She's also making this gasping sound, which I think will soon be her form of laughter...my reward for 8 weeks of hard work.

Stooping to New Lows

Okay, so everyone loves a good bargain, right? Well this week I believe I stooped further than ever before for a deal. You see, I saw this kitchen on Tuesday morning...

...beside the curb waiting for trash pick up! It was so nice, that I stopped, picked it up (snow covered and all), and launched it into the back seat of my van. After nap time Kaden and I dutifully sprayed it with Lysol and wiped it down. It really looks almost new. What we're going to do with it, I don't know since Kaden got a nice new kitchen from Grammie for Christmas. Perhaps cousin Brielle would like it. :o)

Dedicated to Miss Lori

(Yesterday in the car)

Kaden: "My lips are gone!"

Me: "What?!"

Kaden: "My lips are gone, they melted."

**This only makes any form of sense if you understand that the kiddos at Miss Lori's house call chapstick "lips". So, when Kaden wants some chapstick he'll say, "Can I please have some lips?" Yesterday, he had chapstick, then realized it was gone...hence this conversation.

We love you Miss Lori and miss you like CRAZY!

Deal of the Week

For those of you who enjoy finding a good deal, here's one you'll love! Last week I got all of this for $2.80!

That's 3 packs of toilet paper (4 rolls each) and a jar of yeast.

Retail price for everything is about $11. I had coupons which made the toilet paper free, and found the Kroger brand of yeast, which was $2.69 compared to the name brands which are $8! I was excited, and thankful, to find these deals. Hopefully I'll find more in the future and share them with you!

The Best Birthday Gift

Yesterday was my birthday...yep, another year older. It was a great day. I got to do lots of things I enjoy. Here's a running list: Kaden sang to me first thing in the morning, Jason made me breakfast, I took Marin to have her picture taken, Kaden helped Jason make me chocolate chip cookies, I got to spend some time scrapbooking, we all took a nap, had dinner at Red Robin, and we ended the day watching Made of Honor and eating warm chocolate chip cookies! It truely was a great day. But,....the best gift of all...Marin smiled at me! Yep, our baby is growing up! She smiled at us a few times yesterday. It was sooo cute! So, since I typically write about Kaden (he is a bit more animated), here's a post about what Marin likes and dislikes at 6 weeks old. (at her one month dr. apt she was 23 inches long and weighed 11 pounds 6 ounces..both putting her in the 95% for her age)

LIKES
* being warm
* sleeping on her belly
* not having her diaper on
* being held up on your shoulder
* riding in the van
* her swing and bouncy seat

DISLIKES
* getting dressed and undressed
* being cold
* baths (because they include both of the above)
* her pacifier (usually, although occassionally she will try it)
* getting put into her carseat
* taking (or trying to take) a bottle

Kaden Quotes

I'd like to start the new year off by helping you laugh, so here are a few recent quotes from Kaden.

1)(when caught sitting up in bed scratching around his diaper)

Kaden:"My diaper has an issue."

me: "A what?"

Kaden: "A problem."

2) (Constantly to his sister)

Kaden: "You love me?!" (this is said with a slight hint of a question, but mostly as a statement)

3) (in the middle of the night)

Kaden: "Mom! MOM!! MOMMMMMM!"

me: "What?'

Kaden: "You got chips on the list?" (I had gone to the grocery store the night before)

me: "Yep!"

Kaden: "Good job mom! Daddy be so happy." (this was funny, but would have been even more humorous if it haden't occured at 3am!)

Good-bye 2008

The coming of the new year has me thinking of all the changes that we've had in 2008...here's a list off the top of my head:
1) Kaden turned 2
2) I quit teaching after 6 years at CTA (and 9 years total)
3) Our house on Wildwood in Columbus sold after almost 9 months on the market
4) We moved to Indy (this brought many changes in itself: loss of friends, church family, neighbors, etc...)
5) Jason transfered from the Columbus office to the Indianapolis office of Williams Creek
6) I became a stay at home mom
7) We bought a house in Brownsburg, Indiana and moved (AGAIN!!)
8) Marin was born!

While most of these have been positive changes, I find myself hoping that 2009 is a bit quieter than 2008 was.
